At Karunachal we believe that a business must be responsible not only towards its cause but also towards a silent stakeholder - our planet. And here is why...in the last 100 odd years the human species has progressed, developed, reached major milestones/achievements/feats - all this at the cost of our mother Earth. And this will adversely affect only us. Why? Simply because any development/progress ceases to exist if we do not have a hospitable environment to live in.
Research says that we are well into the midst of the 6th mass extinction. Even if we argue that research is biased towards a premise (as we can find equally contradicting research), we can't ignore the disappearance of lakes and birds in our cities.
It is time that we change these old ways of working and progress ALONG with mother Earth. It is often famously quoted that knowledge is power. But knowledge is true power only when put into practice and doesn't remain as theory. In this current age of information, the path of development we have walked has led us to access unlimited sharing of knowledge and resources. It is time to use our existing inventions to retrace few steps and question our choices and belief systems. Instead of complaining about the system, we as youth communities can take ownership and shift out of old ways of working against the environment and start working towards a greener, healthier and wealthier future.
At Karunachal, we promote and enable youth to think, design and develop their own businesses and learn what works best from their own experiences. We encourage those who have tried to start-up and failed, who want to work for themselves or those who want to learn hands-on to continue/begin their entrepreneurial learning journey with us. We do not promote or claim to teach you what to do or how to do...but rather we DO create a safe space for you to think on your own and come up with innovative and creative solutions to make the future a better place for yourself and the generations to come... all this while understanding who/what you are responsible for and WHY.
