Karunachal’s mission is to create continually evolving experiential learning programmes that focus on environment-consciousness.
David A. Kolb, an educational theorist, in his experiential learning theory, described two different ways of grasping experience:
Concrete experience and abstract conceptualisation
He also identified two ways of transforming experience:
Reflective observation and active/reflective experimentation
All our projects are based on environment themes to provide practical tools & guides to create real-time impact. We focus on creating concrete experience and reflective experiments to make environment learning profound and long-lasting. We believe in hands-on work and creating safe, inclusive learning spaces
Short & long-term workshops for youth/adults that explore practical ways to make a difference to the environment and create practices that cause positive impact to the community we live in. We also learn cool ways to contribute our bit to a more environment-friendly world by making conscious and responsible choices
Workshops or Retreats for youth/adults that explore different environmental sustainable practices and learn from them to create their own small initiatives/projects that contribute to a more environment-friendly and inclusive community
Children move towards an Outdoor, Experiential Learning system with its core emphasis on Ecology which enables them to tap and nurture their intuitive ways of learning present in every child
Our projects are open for all youth/adults irrespective of their socio-economic backgrounds because we believe issues regarding the environment is everyone’s problem
Our projects work on a cross-subsidisation model where privilege sections of the society enable the marginalised sections and both come together for the environment
